Rare 1913 Film on Abraham Lincoln Found

WashingtonPost.com has an article on the upcoming screening of a recently-discovered 1913 film about Abraham Lincoln.

The film, which stars John Ford's younger brother, Francis, was discovered in the attic of a New Hampshire barn slated for demolition.

The screening will be held at Keene State College on Tuesday, April 20.

If you can't make the screening, the college has graciously uploaded two brief clips from the film.

And if anyone does manage to go, please send in a review!

Norma Talmadge

Today's NYTimes.com has a wonderful article on Kino's new DVD featuring Norma Talmadge (along with a DVD featuring Norma's sister Constance).

At the end of the article, it mentions two of Norma's films she did with Frank Borzage, "Secrets" and "The Lady" (which made me cry, damn it!). I was fortunate to see both of those at Pordenone many years ago, and I would dearly love to see those again - and on DVD.

Here's hoping we see more of Norma's movies.
