Rare Chaplin Short to Debut
A rare Charlie Chaplin film, "A Thief Catcher," discovered by chance at a Michigan antiques fair last year, will be shown next month at Slapsticon, a local film festival in Arlington devoted to comedic silent films.
According to the article, "organizers said Tuesday that they believe no one has seen this film, a 10-minute Keystone Studios silent comedy, since its 1914 release."
However, Chaplin only makes a cameo, appearing for only 3 minutes.
Nonetheless, it's always exciting when a "lost" or rare film is found!
